Roles & Permissions

Understand the three roles in Vortyk organizations. Owner, Admin, and Member. And what each can do.

The three roles

Owner

Full control over the organization. Manages billing, members, and all settings.

  • One Owner per organization
  • Cannot be removed (only transferred)
  • The person who creates the organization becomes the Owner

Admin

Can manage members and projects but cannot touch billing.

  • Add and remove members
  • Change member roles (except Owner)
  • Create, edit, and delete projects
  • Generate and manage reports
  • Create and manage share links

Member

Can view and contribute to shared projects. Cannot manage members or billing.

  • View all shared projects
  • Upload photos to surveys
  • Add markups and captions
  • Generate reports
  • Download reports

Changing roles

Owners and Admins can change a member's role at any time from the member management screen. Role changes take effect immediately.
